PreXion 3D

PreXion3D Cone Beam CT (computed tomography) imaging involves the use of an x-ray arm rotating around your head. While the arm rotates, it captures multiple images and sends them to a digital computer. The digital computer reconstructs the images into a 3D image of your internal anatomy.

As opposed to traditional 2-dimensional x-ray technology, 3D Cone Beam CT imaging has the unique ability to differentiate tissue types, significantly increase resolution, and provide your dentist with the ability to see any area of your dental anatomy from any angle.

A scan of your teeth and surrounding anatomy only takes seconds and is as easy as sitting in a chair and placing your chin in the chin rest. The doctors at Legacy Dental Care use the Cone Beam CT imaging for:

Vatech 3D Imaging

Vatech 3D imaging uses advanced cone beam technology to produce detailed 3D images of the teeth, jaw, and facial structures. This process can aid in precise diagnosis as well as treatment planning for implants, orthodontics, and oral surgery. This non-invasive tool enhances accuracy and efficiency, leading to better patient outcomes.

Panorex® x-rays use much less radiation than a traditional full set of eighteen smaller x-rays and is a more comfortable experience for patients, too. The x-ray shows the dentist a patient’s nasal area, sinuses, jaw joints, teeth, and surrounding bone. It can reveal cysts, tumors, bone irregularities, and much more.

iTero Scanner

The iTero scanner is a digital impression system that creates accurate 3D models of teeth and oral structures, replacing messy traditional molds. This non-invasive technology improves patient comfort, speeds up treatment planning, and ensures precise fitting for various dental procedures. It is often used during Invisalign® and dental implant treatment planning.

Intraoral Camera

Our camera takes you on a guided tour of your mouth. We use a miniature camera shaped like an oversized pen that is hooked up to a TV monitor to show you exactly what we see when we look closely at your mouth. The camera, with its magnifier, helps show areas that are otherwise difficult to see, in addition to providing significant magnification. You’ll be able to see why your dentist makes certain recommendations in your treatment plan.

Fiber Optic Trans-illumination

Fiber optic trans-illumination is a diagnostic technique using light to detect tooth decay and cracks. A handheld device shines light through teeth, revealing hidden problems without the need for x-rays or radiation. It aids dentists in early detection and accurate treatment planning, improving oral health outcomes.

Custom Dental Appliances

Custom dental appliances, such as teeth whitening trays and mouthguards, are tailored to fit an individual’s teeth and needs. Whitening trays evenly apply bleaching agents for effective teeth whitening, while mouthguards provide precise protection during sports or teeth grinding. These personalized appliances ensure comfort, safety, and optimal results, enhancing both oral aesthetics and overall well-being.
